Emergency Services - Personal Protection / Confrontation Resolution
Course Description: This course is designed to introduce the Emergency Services (EMS, FIRE, RESCUE) officer to defensive tactics for personal protection on scene. During this course, the student will learn to identify possible threats and techniques to avoid them. Additionally this course will provide the officer with the skill set required to legally defend themselves against death or serious bodily harm if engaged by an armed or unarmed subject while on scene. Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to: - Provide the officer with a trained defensive capability
- Enable the officer to resolve a situation with legal use of force techniques
- Conduct scenario based training and evaluation.
- Introduction to close proximity tactics
- Identify a possible threat before action is required
- Reduce liability should a use of force become necessary
Course Length: Two days (16) hrs - Customized curriculum available Prerequisite: Emergency Services Personnel / Law Enforcement Type of Instruction: Classroom, and practical application Recommended Class Size: 8-12 personnel Course Location: MTU (Hosted course) |
