Basic Swat Course (Counter Terrorism)
Course Description: This course is designed to begin building basic operational skills required of the individual SWAT officer. It will encompass all facets of basic SWAT operations and counter terrorist tactics (in order to provide a full understanding of skills, tactics and level of proficiency required to perform tactical operations). Subjects covered during this course will enable the 'new' or even experienced officers to successfully integrate into the unit and begin to operate under developed SOP’s (Understanding a full spectrum course takes 8 weeks of training) Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to: - Understand the Legal aspects / Use of Force
- Conduct weapons familiarization and qualification
- Become familiar with the Assault process - Operational planning
- Develop and build SWAT tactics and individual essential skills (CQB)
- Become familiar with modernized employment techniques
- Forced entry / Diversionary devices
- Weapons retention / Close quarter defensive tactics
Course Length: Five days (60) hrs - Customized curriculum available Prerequisite: Law Enforcement ONLY (Contracted Government Employees accepted, ie: DOD, State Dept, etc…) Type of Instruction: Classroom, field / range and practical application Recommended Class Size: 12 - 24 personnel Course Location: MTU (Hosted course) |
