Basic Sniper Course (Counter Terrorism)
Course Description: This course is designed to begin building basic sniper skills as well as field craft. It will cover in detail, the duties and responsibilities of the LE sniper team. Additionally, there will be considerable practical application shooting from ground, and building platforms utilizing improvised positions. Special emphasis will also involve day/night scope adjustment / theory, understanding ballistics as well as sniper employment. (Understanding a full spectrum course takes 10 weeks of training) Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to: - Strengthen and build individual SNIPER marksmanship and field skills through BASIC craft methodology
- Develop proficiency in range estimation and close proximity shooting
- Develop Counter Terrorism / SWAT Team integration techniques
- Demonstrate and improve bolt manipulation
- Develop and build LE - SNIPER mission essential skills
- Conduct Surveillance / Counter Surveillance operations
- Become familiar with modernized employment techniques
Course Length: Four days (40) hrs - Customized curriculum available Prerequisite: Military / SWAT Sniper, or equivalent experience Type of Instruction: Classroom, field / range and practical application Recommended Class Size: 8 - 24 personnel Course Location: MTU (Hosted course) |
